The District of Columbia Baptist Convention invites you to join us for our 149th Annual Gathering of Churches on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Washington, DC. This year, we gather around the theme “Congregational Care: Exploring the Ministry of Caring for People in a Worship Community,” inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” We are excited to bring the DCBC family together for a meaningful day of fellowship, learning, worship, and connection as we explore how our churches can more intentionally encourage, serve, and strengthen one another.

 

Throughout the day, attendees will hear from pastors, ministry leaders, caregivers, and members of our wider community through an engaging plenary conversation, practical master classes, a dramatic presentation, and closing worship. From supporting family caregivers and creating trauma-informed worship spaces to strengthening congregational relationships and caring for people across generations, there is something for everyone. We hope you’ll make plans to join us as we learn together, reconnect with one another, and continue building a culture of care throughout the DCBC family.
